Workshop

The One Place, for all your Decision-Making Tools

The DataMPowered Workshop allows users to create workbenches (work done using our toolkits) to explore their data flows for any use case. You have a single view of the workbenches you have created to explore use cases, our applications (operationalised workbenches for your employees to use in the field) or your own applications, other available toolkits, plus the dashboards other people within your company and/or other DMP users, have created or used. Additionally, you can sync your data flows, schedule data syncing, manage your toolkits, share them, operationalise these toolkits, as well as, grant or restrict access to your toolkits, all from the one interface.

The Problem-Solving Journey

Picture this: you are a medium sized retail store specializing in fan poster decorations, with multiple employees looking after your stock. You seem to find that your stock has reduced significantly, and cannot determine the reason for why and when this has occurred.

To find the root cause of this issue, you download your inventory spreadsheet, which you have religiously maintained, and connect this to our platform, by entering the Data Connectors page via the Visual Analytics toolkit card, as you are trying to explore your inventory to find the root problem.

Wanting to find out why the majority of your stock has been written off, you create a custom chart to explore the quantity of stock and description of a write-off. Further, if you wish to investigate the number of stock at a given date, therefore the following dashboard comes to fruition:

From this, you can see that the majority of write-offs occur because the posters have had ink damage, presumably due to rain seeping into the packaging, stemming from delivery errors. Also, as can be seen, a regular monthly pattern has emerged with respect to when stock shortages occur, with the greatest stock shortage occurring in January 2011, and falls close to, often, when delivery has occurred.

From here, you can test your hypothesis by launching this workbench as an application, and syncing data from your current inventory as well as, delivery information, with the application to see if there is a correlation between deliveries and stock damage. Then, you can set up a notification system (via text or email), that notifies you when stock damage has occurred, so you can follow this up with your delivery company.

DataMPowered makes the decision-making process simple and seamless, transitioning from finding a problem to, solving it, by embedding applications when and where you need them, so you do not make the same mistakes in the future.
